Operative Words was set up and is managed by Robert Dennis,
a successful freelance copywriter and web designer.
Robert has worked for a wide range of clients in the course of his career, including uSwitch, an online personal finance comparison service; Focus West, a business support agency for London’s digital media sector; and the Governance Hub, a national website for trustees supported by a consortium of leading voluntary organisations and backed by the Home Office.
A graduate of Oxford University (where he read English) Robert originally trained as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language. He has taught a wide range of professional students and his corporate clients have included Merrill Lynch, EMI, Barclays, Marks & Spencers, Guinness and Paribas.
Robert also worked for several years as a researcher and consultant at a specialist economic consultancy in London.
He founded Operative Words in order to provide small and medium-sized companies with affordable, high-quality marketing and communications services . Robert’s experience includes writing, designing and research.
A self-taught web designer and developer, Robert is also a linguist and speaks French, German, Italian and some Spanish.
